Sunday is not a day to go to church. Rather, Sunday is a day for the church to go to worship. Redlands Community Church is not a building or a place, but a people--dynamic and changing, loving and being loved, struggling and sharing in struggle.
Redlands is an evangelical church, which means we believe the Gospel of Jesus Christ as it is presented in the Bible. We believe it is only through Christ that we can have a right relationship with God. That right relationship is experienced and expressed at Redlands on Sunday Mornings in three ways: Teaching, Worship and Community.
The centerpiece of Redlands Community Church is solid teaching from the Bible, the infallible Word of God. We believe the Bible is the primary means by which God has revealed Himself to us, and therefore it is the only authoritative source of truth for our lives and faith.
All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of
God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work. 2 Timothy 3:16-17
At Redlands, we seek to apply God’s Word to every aspect of church life. We treasure the Bible as God’s inspired Word and gladly submit to its authority. We not only believe that the Bible is the completely true and trustworthy Word of God, we also believe God gave it to us for the express purpose of shaping our thinking, our feelings, and our behavior.
We dearly love the gospel, the good news that Christ died for our sins making it possible for us to be at peace with God and assured of eternity with him. This undeserved grace continually astounds us and impresses upon us the magnitude of God’s love for us. We believe that the people of Redlands must have a clear understanding and a deep personal appreciation of the gospel in order for them to live in the goodness of this amazing grace day to day.
The purest expression of the reality of our relationship with God is our passionate worship of Him. We believe we are drawn into an experience of worship by seeing God as He has revealed Himself in the Bible, and by gratefully responding to what He has done in our lives.
Come, let us sing for joy to the Lord; let us shout aloud to the Rock of our salvation.
Come, let us bow down in worship, let us kneel before the Lord our Maker;
for He is our God and we are the people of His pasture, the flock under His care. Psalm 95: 1, 6-7
At Redlands we make every effort to ensure that our worship services are focused on the glory of God, on the cross of Christ, and led by the Holy Spirit. We believe that it is only through the finished work of Christ on the cross that we may enter into the presence of God and worship Him.
The songs we sing are chosen to express our love to God and His love for us as it is revealed in the cross. We draw from a variety of traditions and select songs that are God-centered, theologically sound and musically enjoyable.
We celebrate the Lord's Supper the first Sunday of each month and welcome all committed believers in Christ who are members of a gospel-preaching church to partake. Following our Communion worship we enjoy a fellowship meal together and we would love to have you join us.
At Redlands Community Church, we work to create as many opportunities as possible for people to develop and enjoy relationships with one another.
A new command I give you: Love one another as I have loved you, so you must love one another.
By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another. John 13:34-35
At Redlands, our community includes people of all ages. We have an active children’s program in which kids from preschool through elementary school age receive Bible teaching in a way that is relevant and understandable to them. And we have regular meetings for our youth and their parents. Adults at Redland's also have many opportunities to "do life together."
We are deeply committed to the local church as the principal place where God is working out his purpose in the world and in people’s lives. We believe that active participation in a local church is not just useful but essential for the spiritual growth of individual Christians. We have been joined together by the Spirit into one body, and understand our participation in the church involves not only growing commitment to Christ but our growing involvement in each other’s lives.
By this we know love, that he laid down his life for us, and we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers. 1 John 3:16
